Skibbereen

Lough Hyne also called Lough Ine is located approxmately 7km south west of Skibbereen. It is a lake surrounded by woodlands and with nice bathing areas but no beach as such. The lake is an important centre for sealife as it is Europe's largest saltwater lake. The water at Lough Hyne is approximately 3 degrees Celsius warmer than the sea and is home to a number of Mediteranean species.
